INTENDED USE

SUMMARY
Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is one of the commonly used tumor markers.It is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 70,000 and sugar of 4%.It is mainly synthesized by fetal liver,followed by yolk sac.The fetus began to synthesize for 6 weeks, reaching a peak of 12 to 15 weeks, serum concentration of 1 to 3 g/L, and umbilical cord blood at birth of 10 to 100 mg/L;1 to 2 years after birth to adult level;Normal pregnancy can reach 90 to 500 ng/mL in the middle;Normal human serum AFP content is between 2 and 8 ng/mL, but many diseases, especially hepatitis, affect the AFP value.
